WVVA named Station of the Year by WV Broadcasters Association


BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - For the fifth time in seven years, WVVA has been named the Television Station of the Year for the entire state by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association.

The station received the award Saturday in Morgantown during the WVBA's annual Excellence in Broadcasting Awards Dinner.

WVVA picked up several other awards, including Best AM Newscast and Best Locally-Produced Television Show.

WVVA's Matt Irvin was named Best Photojournalist, and Internet Director Allen Roberts won for Best Use of Digital Media.


WVVA also won several awards at the 2014 Associated Press of the Virginias Awards banquet in Charlottesville, Va.

Multimedia Journalist Kristen Conner won for Outstanding Effort by an Individual Reporter. WVVA also received Meritorious awards for best Spot News coverage and Best Website, Small Market.
