One injured in Bluefield shootings

One person is taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds after a shooting in Bluefield, West Virginia Tuesday evening.

Bluefield Police Department reports that around 5:00 PM, a suspect jumped out of a car and fired shots into a crowd on Stowers Street.   About a minute later, they received reports of a second shooting where someone else jumped out of their car and fired into a crowd on Jefferson Street.

Officers believe the incident started with an argument.  They believe the second shooting was in retaliation to the first because of the timing and how close the shootings were to each other.

One woman was shot in the first incident.  She is being treated at Bluefield Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe there are two to three suspects involved in the shooting.  They're not releasing further details at this time.
