Tennessee crash kills two southern W.Va. residents


BRISTOL (WVVA) -- Two people from southern West Virginia are dead after a car accident in Tennessee Saturday night.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol, it happened around 7 p.m. on I-81 near the Bristol Regional Medical Center.

A tractor trailer heading north hit the back of a Toyota Camry, causing both vehicles to cross over two lanes and hit the concrete median.

The driver of the truck, Carl Osburn, 54, of Princeton died in the crash.  The driver of the Camry was Dennis Dawson, 81, of Beckley.  He died around 2 a.m. Saturday morning at Bristol Regional Medical Center.  His wife and the passenger of the car, Connie Dawson, 75, is in critical condition at the hospital. 

The driver of a third car, Crystal Ward, hit the truck when in the southbound lanes.  She's been arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license.  Ward is out on a $2,000 bond.  She's not being charged in connection to the crash.
