Fayette County man sentenced for selling cocaine

CHARLESTON (NEWS RELEASE) – United States Attorney Booth Goodwin announced that John Wayne Taylor, Jr., 37, of Scarbro, West Virginia, was sentenced in federal court in Charleston today to two years and nine months in federal prison for distributing cocaine.
Taylor previously pled guilty in November of 2013, admitting that on May 30, 2013, he sold approximately .41 grams of cocaine to an individual cooperating with the police. The drug deal took place near Scarbro.
In imposing the sentence, the Court also considered Taylor's admission that he had distributed 300 oxycodone pills and approximately 4 grams of cocaine over a period of time.
Taylor was sentenced by United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston.  The case was investigated by the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force and the prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney John File.
