Elementary school teacher faces felony drug charge

HINTON (WVVA) -- A local elementary teacher is arrested on drug charges Saturday.

Chief Deputy J.K. Farmer of Summers County arrested Fredrick Huffman during a traffic stop on the Route 20 bypass near Hinton.

Huffman is a teacher at Gilbert Elementary School in Mingo County.  He is being charged with felony possession of marijuana.

Farmer recovered more than one ounce of the drug, plus weight scales and a firearm from Huffman's car.

Huffman's possession of the gun was legal, but it will call for a stiffer penalty of the drug crime.
