Old Fayette County Schools among 2014 W.Va. endangered properties

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- An art deco swimming pool built in 1934 is among six sites on the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia's latest endangered properties list.
The alliance says the Margaret Mason Weir Memorial Pool in Weirton closed in 2005 and the city planned to demolish it. That plan was put on hold in 2012 due to community support to save the pool. A community group is raising money to update and reopen the pool.
The alliance's 2014 list also includes Feagans Mill in Jefferson County, the old Fayetteville High School and the old Glen Jean School in Fayette County, the Golden Rule building in Belington in Barbour County, and Kirk's Building in Wheeling.
