McClung Selected as North-South Football Coach

Posted:

Bob Mullett, game director of the West Virginia Athletic Coaches Association's WCHS-TV/FOX-11 North-South Football Classic, has announced the head coaches for its 2014 event.

Bill Haddox of East Fairmont High School will lead the North Bears. He has served as the Bees head football coach since 2001. His 2007 team advanced to the Class AAA state semifinals. Prior to East Fairmont, Haddox was head coach at Tucker County High School, where he led the Mountain Lions to the 1988 Class AA State Championship game.

Lewis McClung of Greenbrier West High School returns to guide the South Cardinals. He has been the head football coach of the Cavaliers since 2002. McClung led Greenbrier West to a 12-2 record last season and an appearance in the 2013 Class A State Championship game. He previously served as an assistant coach in last year's N-S Football Classic.

"We have two outstanding coaches," said Mullett. "I've known Bill (Haddox) for years. Offensively, he will be very entertaining and innovative. Lewis (McClung) has had a tremendous career. His teams are always strong on both sides of the ball. It will be an exciting game."
