A Community Comes Together to Help a Firefighter

Posted:

HINTON (WVVA)- Community members in the City of Hinton are coming together to raise money for a local fire fighter.

Robbie Turner, a Hinton resident and member of the Hinton Fire Department had a stroke recently and now is going through the rehabilitation process.

Turner is currently in the hospital working to regain movement. After he's released he will still have to undergo physical therapy.

To help raise money for his medical bills and cost of living residents held a bake sale and fundraiser. A long line of people filled the fire house.

Their goal is to raise $5,000 but, they will continue fundraising as long as the money is needed.

If you'd like to donate you can do so at the Hinton Fire Department. Checks can be mailed to The Hinton Fire Department Women's Auxiliary at 188 Pleasant St. Hinton, WV.
