She also suffered from smoke inhalation.

FAYETTEVILLE (WVVA) - A Fayette County woman is fighting for her life after her home goes up in flames.

It happened a little after 5 p.m. Tuesday on High Street in Fayetteville. When Fayetteville Police arrived on scene, they heard a woman inside the house screaming for help, but were unable to rescue her because of the heat. Once firefighters arrived on scene, they were able to rescue the woman.

The woman was taken to Raleigh General Hospital to be treated for severe burns and smoke inhalation. Her husband was also taken to a hospital with burns.

Fayetteville Fire Chief John Wooten says firefighters had issues fighting the fire due to frozen hydrants and low water pressure.
