WV Attorney General Talks Investigation Updates

CHARLESTON (WVVA)- The Attorney General's Office is fully into their investigation of the chemical spill that tainted the Elk River.

"We're trying really to establish a timeline of all the relevant dates before the actual water crisis began and extending out past the time when the chemical went into the river," Patrick Morrisey says. "I can tell you that we're hopeful that we're gonna make some announcements over the course of the upcoming weeks."

His question is, are laws and regulations being followed like they should and do new laws need to be implemented.

State officials are working 24/7 to ensure the safety of the people. Morrisey says his concern is that federal leaders aren't doing the same.

He states, "It shouldn't be that the CDC gets a letter out six days into the crisis and it shouldn't be that the CDC says that pregnant women should not take the water several days after there's an okay to drink the water."

Multiple entities are working on the matter to get the truth out for the people.
