(WVVA)- A mild Monday morning gave way to falling temperatures throughout the day after a strong cold front moved through the region.
Temperatures are forecasted to reach either side of 0 degrees by early Tuesday morning with a 5 to 15 mph breeze and ridge top gusts to 30mph possible. This will put wind chills back to -5 to -15 through Noon Tuesday for all counties and possibly as low as -25 in the high elevations of Greenbrier and Pocahontas counties. Wind Chill Advisories and Warnings are in effect through that time.

Highs on Tuesday will only reach the upper single digits to upper teens and lows will be back down to around 0 Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Black ice remains a concern through at least Wednesday midday, but possibly through Thursday morning!

As we wrap up the month of January, temperatures will get back above freezing. For now, it looks like we get a milder start to February, but with rain in the forecast. The WVVA Precision Weather Team will have more updates on this latest Arctic cold snap as information becomes available.
