Tazewell Co. Schools celebrating Anti-Bullying Month

Posted:

TAZEWELL, Va (WVVA)-- Schools in one area county want students and staff to know bullying isn't ok.

Tazewell County Schools are in the middle of Anti-Bullying Month, reinforcing anti-bullying messages throughout January.

The last week of the month will be county school-wide events called "Tazewell County doesn't Bully."

Schools will have pajama and superhero-themed days and guest speakers to promote anti-bullying messages.

It's all to make sure everyone is on the same page about how to address bullying, and even prevent it before it happens.

"Everybody is in it together," said Kayla Myers, Public Relations and Communications representative for Tazewell County Schools.

"If we all help each other and make sure everyone is on the same page, nobody's different," she said. "It's not ok to take [bullying.] Go and tell people. It does get better, and we are here to help you. This is a nationwide problem."

School officials say they strive to spread that anti-bullying message every day of the year, but this month especially, they drive it home.
