Donations being collected for Northfork family left homeless by fire

Posted:

NORTHFORK (WVVA) - A community is coming together for a McDowell County family who lost their home and belongings in a fire.

The fire began at the Northfork Hollow home of the Rose family around 2 AM Wednesday. Officials believe a heating stove may have started the blaze, but a state fire marshal is investigating the cause.

No one was injured, but the family lost everything. Because of the cold weather and location of the home, firefighters had difficulty with a freezing water supply.

One of the victims-- a firefighter at Northfork himself. His brothers, and the family's friends, have begun a collection for the Roses as they work to replace what they lost.

The following sizes are needed for 11 individuals:

  • Adult male: 3X pants, 4X shirts, 13-13 1/2 shoe
  • Adult male: 32x30 pants, L shirts, 12 1/2 shoe
  • Adult male: 34x32 pants, L shirts, 11 shoe
  • Adult male: 34x32 pants, XL shirts, 11 1/2 - 12 shoe
  • Adult female: 16 pants, L shirts, 7 1/2 - 8 shoe
  • Adult female: 10 pants, L shirts, 8 shoe
  • Adult female: 10 pants, M shirts, 5 shoe
  • Youth male: 12 pants, L shirts, 5 shoe
  • Youth male: 8 pants, M shirts, 1 shoe
