Tips To Keep Your Family Safe This Winter

LEWISBURG (WVVA)- Multiple back to back fires have raged through homes in Greenbrier County. We spoke with Asst. Fire Chief, Joey Thomas of the Lewisburg Fire Department for some tips to keep you safe this winter.

Keep your furnaces or wood stoves cleaned. Ovens are not a good way to heat your home but if you must use them make sure there aren't any combustibles near by.

Thomas says problems often result from families doing whatever they can to stay warm. If you have to use a propane heater be sure to keep it at least four or five feet away from anything.
