ALTA (WVVA) - Drivers of two vehicles were transported to a nearby hospital after a crash left part of a truck hanging over the edge of a bridge in Greenbrier County.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. on the bridge at the Alta exit off of Interstate 64. Officials on scene say icy conditions led to a Chevy Tahoe and truck colliding, forcing the front end of the truck over the edge of the bridge.

The bridge also suffered damage.

One lane of I-64 below the bridge was closed while crews cleared the scene. It has since been reopened.

Both drivers involved were transported to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center with undisclosed injuries. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Multiple emergency crews including fire departments from Clintonville, Smoot and Williamsburg -- as well as DOH crews -- responded to the scene.

WVVA's Kathylnn Stone was at the scene and will have more on WVVA News at Noon.
