    W. Va barn demolition reveals 19th century school

    MONTCALM, W.Va. (AP) -- A barn demolition project in Mercer County has uncovered a 19th century log school. Brian Pigg discovered the hand-hewn logs at his barn's core while removing siding. The barn is located on Browning Lambert Mountain in the Montcalm area. Retired Montcalm High School history teacher Jack Johnson tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraphthat the log structure was once known as the Mullins School. (WVVA) - The following closings have been submitted to WVVA News -- in addition to our Snow Patrol listings:

-FRMS Health Systems DUI Classes in Beckley scheduled for Tuesday morning and Tuesday evening have been canceled.

-Residential recycling for the City of Bluefield will be collected on Wednesday.

-Town of Matoaka's garbage pickup is rescheduled for Wednesday. Monday's Municipal Court has been rescheduled for Jan. 13 at 6 p.m.

- The Place for Kids and The Place campus will be closed Tuesday

- Raleigh County American Legion Post 32 Meeting for Tuesday at 7 p.m. has been canceled

- Offices of Drs. Lee Smith and Robert Jones opening late Tuesday

- All Monroe County senior centers (Lindside, Union, Peterstown and Alderson) will be closed Tuesday

-Greenbrier County Health Department will be closed Tuesday

-Heartland Rehabilitation Services in Tazewell will be closed Tuesday

- All hearings with Magistrate Sandra Dorsey in Bluefield are canceled for Tuesday

- Tazewell Public Service Authority Office will be closed Tuesday. If you need emergency assistance, call 1-888-846-6838.

- Buchanan County Courthouse, J & DR Court and Circuit Court will be closed Tuesday

- The flea market at the State Fair of WV will be closed Tuesday.

- The Johnston Chapel MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meeting for Tuesday Jan 7th is cancelled.

- All Schwan's Home Delivery services in southern West Virginia scheduled for Tuesday will be rescheduled for 1/10. Call 1-888-724-9267 for further information.
