1. Stabbing at Claypool Hill Walmart -- A Thanksgiving night argument over a parking space led to a stabbing and national headlines.

2. 'Buckwild' star found dead -- Shain Gandee and two others died of carbon monoxide poisoning in April. The MTV series was canceled shortly after.

3. Fog leads to 95-car pileup on I-77 -- Three people died in a massive pileup in April on Interstate 77 at Fancy Gap, near the Va.-N.C. border.

4. Rock slide closes Interstate 77 -- Slide near Bluefield closes I-77 North for more than a week in March.

5. Bus driver murdered in Wyoming County -- Elaine Birchfield was killed in her Brenton area home in February.

6. McDowell County parents charged with abuse -- Children found living in deplorable conditions in August.

7. One killed in Lewisburg standoff -- Man brandishing gun shot dead by police in January.

8. McDowell man pleads guilty to killing wife -- Robert Johnson fatally shot wife, then attempted to kill self in 2011. He was convicted in April.

9. One mother shot dead, another charged with murder -- Confrontation stemming from apparent dispute between children on a school bus leads to a woman's murder in March.

10. Pit bull pups found dead in Bluefield -- In April, 10 pit bull puppies were found dead in dog food bags in a remote area near Bluefield.

11. Arrest made in Pizza Plus slaying -- The son of the victims in a brutal 2009 Tazewell County murder was arrested in February.

12. Meth lab found in child's room -- Three were arrested after meth lab bust in Greenbrier County in April.

13. Hunter missing in Tazewell County -- Eric Smith of Cedar Bluff vanished after leaving his home to go hunting in November.
