OAK HILL (WVVA) -- Nine fire crews were able to clear the scene of a large scrap yard fire by 12:15 a.m. Saturday morning.

This was almost five hours after they initially responded.

The fire was at the scrap yard in the Lochgelly area of Oak Hill.  Homes surrounding the property were evacuated as a precaution because several propane tanks are on the property.

EMS say they transported one person to the hospital to treat burns.

Investigators are following up on the cause, but they say it does not seem to be suspicious at this time.
