Rainelle man arrested on meth lab charge


LEWISBURG (WVVA) - A Rainelle man has been arrested on drug charges after officers find meth-making materials in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop.

Matthew Scott Bennett, 28, of Rainelle was charged with one count of attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory, conspiracy to operate a clandestine drug lab and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

Bennett was arrested after being pulled over for a routine traffic stop in Lewisburg. During the stop, officers located meth-making materials and other drug evidence in the vehicle which was linked to Bennett, according to a news release from the Lewisburg Police Department.

The investigation is being conducted by Sgt. D.B. Eggleston and Ptlm. J.B. Kuhn of the Lewisburg PD. The Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office and State Police assisted.
