Local Christmas trees encouraged in W.Va.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginians are being encouraged to buy a local Christmas tree this holiday season.
In a column written by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, residents were urged to visit West Virginia's more than 30 family-owned "Choose-and-Cut" Christmas tree farms.
Tomblin says visiting a tree farm is an opportunity to spend quality time with family and support the local economy.
The West Virginia Division of Forestry supports Choose-and-Cut Christmas tree farms across the state by providing information including the location, operating hours, products, species, sizes and services available at each farm. More information is available at http://www.wvcommerce.org/directory/christmastreefarms .
