Bluefield State College Joins New Conference

Posted:

BLUEFIELD, W.Va (WVVA) -- Bluefield State Athletics have a new home. BSC President Dr. Marsha Krotseng and Athletic Director Terry Brown announced Thursday, that the Big Blues joined the Eastern College Athletic Conference.

The ECAC is the largest collegiate athletic conference in the country with more than 300 teams across Division I, II and III in the NCAA.

Bluefield State has been independent since the WVIAC dissolved last year. Their inclusion in the ECAC is immediate so they will be able to begin playing towards postseason tournaments and honors now.

The move gives coaches at BSC flexibility when it comes to scheduling and recruiting. Since BSC is back with the NCAA, coaches have access to certification which removes certain recruiting restrictions, including off-campus visits by coaches.
