Preseason Boys Basketball Polls Released

BLUEFIELD, W.Va (WVVA) -- The West Virginia Associated Press released its preseason polls for boys basketball and several area teams are in the top ten across all three classes.

Class AAA

1. Washington   
2. Woodrow Wilson   
3. Martinsburg   
4. Huntington
5. South Charleston
6. Greenbrier East
7. Wheeling Park
8. George Washington
9. Hedgesville
10. Preston

Class AA

1. Bluefield
2. Bridgeport
3. Robert C. Byrd
3. Westside (Tie for 3rd)
5. Fairmont Senior
6. Wyoming East
7. Poca
8. Scott
9. Mingo Central
10. Tolsia

Summers County also received votes for the top 10.

Class A

1. Charleston Catholic
2. Parkersburg Catholic
3. Wheeling Central
4. Greater Beckley Christian
5. Magnolia
6. Tug Valley
7. Notre Dame
8. Tucker County
9. Bishop Donahue
10. Madonna

Valley (Fayette) and Greenbrier West also received votes for the top 10.

The West Virginia Associated Press polls sports writers across the state. The poll was released Monday afternoon.

    Orange and Maroon Caravan rolls into town April 30th

    BLUEFIELD (WVVA)- The annual Orange and Maroon Caravan will be rolling into town on April 30th at Fincastle on the Mountain.The event is presented by the Bluefield and Tazewell Hokie Clubs.Tickets are 25 dollars for adults and 15 dollars for children.Dinner will start 6:30 P.M. and will feature special guest Head Coach Frank Beamer.Dinner will be provided by Chef Rick.For tickets and information, you can call Lisa Clark at 304-922-8544.More >>
