UPDATE: Man accused of stabbing pair with sword

BECKLEY (WVVA) -- A Raleigh County man is being held on a $1-million bond after allegedly stabbing two individuals with a sword.

Michael Hale has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and two counts of malicious wounding after the incident at a home on Bailey Avenue in Beckley early Sunday morning.

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office, Hale, 27, of Beckley entered the residence with a sword and started an altercation with 37-year-old Hershel Drenned.

Drenned was cut several times. A second victim, 24-year-old Tabatha Farley, was stabbed in the foot.

The sheriff's department is handling the investigation.  Hale is being held at Southern Regional Jail.
