PRINCETON (WVVA) - A criminal complaint has revealed new details surrounding Sunday morning's deadly shooting outside a Princeton nightclub.

35-year-old David Andrew Bailey of Bluefield, Va., was killed as a result of multiple gunshot wounds outside Club Maximus in Princeton around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Morrisettie Leggett, 32, of Bluefield, turned himself in to Bluefield, W.Va., Police shortly after the shooting. Investigators say Leggett confessed to the murder.

According to the criminal complaint filed on the incident, Bailey was shot approximately five times by a .38 caliber handgun. CPR was being administered to Bailey when deputies arrived. He died while en route to Princeton Community Hospital.

The complaint further states that Leggett told police that he and Bailey got into an argument at the club, where Leggett was working as a DJ. When the club closed, Leggett went to his vehicle, retrieved the handgun, placed it inside his hoodie pocket and headed back to the club.

Another argument ensued between the two in the parking lot. Leggett said Bailey had his hands up in a manner to fist fight and came toward him, that's when he fired the first shots.

Leggett told police he knew Bailey was unarmed, the complaint states.

When Leggett began shooting, Bailey turned and ran through the parking lot -- which was where he was observed on the ground when police arrived.

Leggett told police he left the scene after the shooting and went to his parents' home in Bluefield to explain the situation. His father then transported him to the Bluefield Police Department.

Leggett was arraigned Monday morning on the charge of first-degree murder. Bond was set at $50,000.

Leggett had no prior criminal record. If bond is met, he will be placed on home confinement.
