Lashmeet man charged in break-in spree

LASHMEET (WVVA) - A Lashmeet man is facing multiple charges following a string of early morning break-ins.

According to a news release from Mercer County Sheriff Don Meadows, multiple breaking and enterings were reported in the Lashmeet area around 5:49 a.m. Tuesday.

Upon further investigation it was discovered that approximately $5,000 worth of electronics were stolen from the Head Start, a firearm and undisclosed amount of cash were taken from the Star Restaurant, and the Lashmeet Freewill Baptist Church was also broken into -- with destruction of property at all three locations.

By 10 a.m., deputies had arrested Bradley Gene Bradshaw of Lashmeet and charged him with three counts of breaking and entering, two counts of grand larceny, receiving/transferring stolen property and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Other charges are pending. All property was recovered and returned to the owners.
