UPDATE:

BECKLEY, W. Va (WVVA)-- Police say they have identified a suspect in a shooting that happened in Beckley last Friday.

Detective Dave Allard with the Beckley Police Department says the man pictured at left, Rashad Lewis Morris, is wanted in connection with shooting at the Beckley Woods Housing Authority in Beckwood last Friday.

 

He's wanted on charges of attempted murder, malicious wounding, and robbery. Police say the victim, Christopher Henry, is in stable condition at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Police believe he fled the area after the crime and is possibly in the Huntington area. He could also be in Ohio.

BECKLEY (WVVA) -- Police said they have a 'strong lead' in the search for a suspect in an overnight shooting on Friday.

It happened at the Beckley Woods Housing Authority in Beckwood around 2a.m.

According to Det. Dave Allard, a male sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the shooting and is presently in surgery.

"If anyone has any information, contact us. We need to be able to identify this person quickly. An innocent bystandard could have been hurt," said Allard.

Allard is asking anyone with information to contact the Beckley City Police Dept. or Crimestoppers at 304-255-STOP.

RALEIGH (WVVA) - Dispatchers have confirmed a shooting on Beckwood Drive in Beckley.

Dispatchers say the shooting occurred around two Friday morning.

At this time no additional information is being released.

The Beckley City Police is handling the investigation.
