Is Thanksgiving the new Black Friday when it comes to holiday shopping?

BECKLEY (WVVA) -- Some stores are taking Black Friday shopping to a new extreme this year.

For example, retail giant K-Mart started their deals at 6 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, and Big Lots has been open for years on Thanksgiving Day, but their sales also started Thursday too.

Other retailers like Wal-Mart, JC Penney, Kohl's and Sears open and start their sales Thursday evening.

Shoppers weigh in on the pros and cons of the Thanksgiving deals.

"The games were awesome," says K-Mart shopper, Daphne Hensley.  "They're buy one get one free.  And then the snuggies, they're $10 each, when they're usually 20 bucks."

"Some of the stuff I was looking for was already gone," says Bobby Neupane, another K-Mart shopper.  "Early bird got the worm."

WVVA will be following Black Friday adventures across the two Virginias.  If you see Kathlynn Stone out and about Friday morning, make sure you stop her for a chance at our giveaway!
