Local healthcare system won't serve uninsured soon

BECKLEY (WVVA) -- If you don't have health insurance, and it's not an emergency, one local hospital says they won't be able to serve you any more.

Starting January 1, Appalachian Regional Healthcare will only accept patients with insurance, due to the changes in the Affordable Care Act.

A spokesperson from the hospital says it's best to enroll by November 30 to make sure you're covered next year.

They have staff on site to assist those who need help enrolling in the right plan.
