BECKLEY (WVVA) -- Beckley city council members say they're working toward a plan for the empty space in uptown left barren after the January 2012 fire.
At the next council meeting they'll vote on what the next move will be for the land. Options include building or selling.
If they do decide to keep the property and build, Mayor Pugh tells WVVA one of the more popular options.
"We have kind of worked that in conjunction with Jill Moorefield, who runs Beckley Renaissance about some of the things that she really could use downtown for like storage, maybe a small building for the events that run like Chili Night. Some kind of central location," says Pugh.
The final decision will be made by the two landowners, attorney John Mize and the city of Beckley. You can speak out at the next council meeting on Tuesday, November 26, at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
