WVU interim president won't hold permanent job

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- The next interim president at West Virginia University won't be a candidate for the permanent job.
The WVU Board of Governors approved a motion Wednesday authorizing a process to identify potential candidates for the interim post.
The board also decided the interim president wouldn't be in line to take over permanently for the outgoing Jim Clements, who was named president at Clemson University on Monday.
The board also authorized a search for a permanent president. The board voted that it first must adopt the procedures governing the search.
The board voted during a brief public session that followed a meeting in executive session.
