Bluefield, WV (WVVA) -- Hazardous travel was reported across the Two Virginias Tuesday night from snow, falling temperatures and freezing roadways.

The Sam Black Church and Alta areas in Greenbrier county were dealing with black ice on I-64 which caused an accident that closed the westbound lane for more than an hour. According to West Virginia DOT, the accident has been cleared and DOT trucks are working on clearing the ice and snow as well as salting the roadway.

Traffic delays on I64 remained heavy in both directions from the earlier road closure.

Hazardous conditions were also reported in Charleston Tuesday night from black ice and a local area emergency was put into effect.

Black Ice is a concern for all roads in all counties tonight through Wednesday morning from the rain and snow that fell earlier Tuesday. Wet and snow covered roadways are now freezing from temperatures falling through the 20s and into the teens.
