(WVVA)- The National Park Service
is asking the public to weigh in on a proposal to charge fees at three free
campgrounds in the New River
According to the
proposal, visitors would pay five dollars per night to use the Army Camp, Glade
Creek, and Grandview Sandbar campgrounds near Prince.
The park service says
there are two reasons for the proposal.
One is budget cuts and
rising maintenance costs. The other is crime.
