MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- Coach Bob Huggins has only six returning players and no seniors on his roster at West Virginia. That will make it challenging for the Mountaineers to improve on last season's eighth-place finish in the Big 12. West Virginia must find ways both to score and gather missed shots. The six returnees averaged a combined 35 points, led by leading scorer Eron Harris at nearly 10 points per game. Five of the veterans are guards. The Mountaineers lost more than half of their rebounding production from a year ago when they went 13-19, the worst season in Huggins' 31 years as a head coach. West Virginia opens the regular season Nov. 8 at home against Mount St. Mary's.
