A Bridge Dedicated to a Fallen Hero


BECKLEY (WVVA)- In 2007 a deadly explosion took the lives of several individuals including Ghent Fire Captain, Fred Burroughs.

Fred was the first responder at the Little General Store Explosion and sacrificed his life to save the lives of many others.

Today, in honor of his memory Fred's family a long with West Virginia State Leaders and Ghent Volunteer Firefighters dedicated a bridge in East Beckley to him.

They named it Fire Captain Fred Burroughs Memorial Bridge. His family members say they will think of him every time they drive over it.
