PRINCETON (WVVA) - An employee at Princeton Community Hospital spent nearly two hours trapped in a staff elevator Thursday after it became stuck between two floors.

Rose Morgan, Vice President of Patient Care Services at PCH says the Princeton Fire Department and technicians with the elevator company were called it around 10:30 a.m.

The employee was removed from the elevator around noon.

Hospital staff members were able to get drinks, and blankets and pillows to the stuck employee.

Morgan says the staff member was bale to use her cell phone to check on her patients while trapped.

Morgan added that all safety mechanisms in the staff elevator functioned properly. It was expected to be back in use later Thursday.
