WVU Ground Attack Effective Against Texas Tech

Posted:

BLUEFIELD, W.Va (WVVA) -- Even in defeat, the WVU ground attack had a decent game against Texas Tech. It's the first time since September's game against Georgia State, where a Mountaineer tailback has been effective running the football.

Both Dreamius Smith and Charles Sims had some success against the Red Raiders. The pair split the running back duties and gained 183 yards. Smith also had a pair of touchdowns.

The Mountaineers ground game wasn't enough to power them past Texas Tech. The offensive attack sputtered midway through the third quarter, allowing the Red Raiders to score 21 unanswered points.
