BECKLEY (WVVA) - A Mercer County man has pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree murder in the 2012 slaying of a Princeton man.

61-year-old Gerald Little is now convicted of stabbing 57-year-old Jerry Buckner to death in March 2012.

He faces up to 35 years in prison.

When police found Buckner's body in his Princeton home, investigators discovered traces of Little's DNA on his fingernails and pants.

The two knew each other -- police think the motive was robbery.

Friday's hearing was in Raleigh County in front of Judge Hrko from Wyoming County judge.  The proceedings were moved from Mercer County due a conflict of interest, as Buckner had ties to individuals in the Mercer County court system.

Little addressed the family of the victim in court Friday, apologizing for his actions.
