MINDEN (WVVA) -- Two Fayette County men are behind bars after placing a telephone call to the wrong number.

Officers were at the State Police barracks in Oak Hill on Thursday morning when the phone rang. A trooper answered the phone, "West Virginia State Police, how may I help you?"

To the trooper's surprise, the individual calling identified himself as "John," and asked if he wanted to buy any prescription pills. The individual then gave directions to his residence in Minden.

Undercover police went to the residence on Thurbon Road and purchased two Hydrocodone pills from John Jarrell and Danny Kincaid of Minden, and left the residence. As soon as the undercover officers left, State Police and Fayette County Sheriff's deputies returned to the residence and placed the two men under arrest.

"Officers have made numerous arrests for drug violations in recent months and our agencies have recovered large quantities of drugs and money while executing search warrants. It normally takes a good deal of time to conduct an investigation into drug trafficking offenses and buid a case. When the guys come right to your door, it makes our job a whole lot easier," said Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler.

Kessler went on to add, "John Wayne once said, 'Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid.' Life is certainly tough for these two individuals right now."

Kincaid is charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. Jarrell is charged with the felony offenses of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
