UPDATE: Man arrested, woman released in connection with bomb threat


BLUEFIELD, Va. (WVVA) -- A man is charged with providing false information in connection with a bomb threat made at the Walmart in Bluefield, Virginia. 

Bluefield, VA Police Chief Harry Cundiff says the man incorrectly identified the woman as being a threat. Cundiff says the man and woman are acquaintances. 

The woman who was originally arrested at the scene was released. 

The store was evacuated around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The store reopened after crews searched the store and found nothing suspicious.


BLUEFIELD, Va. (WVVA) -- The Bluefield, Va. Police Department is investigating a bomb threat at Walmart. 

One female was arrested at the scene in connection with the threat. 

The Walmart was evacuated just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Customers were told the store would not reopen for several hours. Witnesses say many people just left their shopping carts and evacuated the store.
