UPDATE: Man who escaped from Beckley Correctional Center captured

BECKLEY (WVVA) - A man who escaped from Beckley Correctional Center last month has been captured.

Kevin Dale Burford, 47, was taken into custody Wednesday, according to a release from the Division of Corrections. No further details were provided on his apprehension.

Burford had been serving a sentence for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance out of Braxton County when he failed to return from furlough on Oct. 12.

Authorities are still searching for another escapee from the Beckley Correctional Center, who failed to return from work release earlier this week.

Michael Lee Morrison, 29, was scheduled to be picked up from work release at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, but was unaccounted for. Click here for more information on Morrison.



BECKLEY (WVVA) -- Officials need help locating a man who escaped from the Beckley Correctional Center Saturday. 

Kevin Burford is described as a white male, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5'10'' and weighs 200 pounds.

Burford's tattoos include the following: Right Front Upper Arm ("Tom Cat" with Garfield picture), Right Front Forearm(Cross with snake), Right Hand Top(Winged Skull), Back of Head(approx. 1.5" scar), Left front upper arm(heart with dragon on it), Left shoulder(helmeted demon), Left wrist(small cross), left chest("Cat").

Burford was ordered in from furlough and did not return to the Beckley Correctional Center.
