CLEAR FORK (WVVA) - The Wyoming County Sheriff's Department has released more details in Thursday morning's double shooting incident in the Clear Fork area.

Wyoming County 911 received a call of a double shooting at the residence of Timothy Green at Elk Lick around 12:50 a.m.

Police say the incident began when Gregory Pelphrey and a female companion -- who were traveling south on Route 971 -- apparently had a domestic dispute that prompted the female to exit the vehicle and run toward Green's residence.

Police say Pelphrey began slashing the tires on Green's vehicle which led to an altercation between he and Green. During the altercation, Green received a gunshot wound to the hand, took the gun away from Pelphrey and shot him.

The investigation is continuing.
