$1.3 million-worth of marijuana found in Wyoming County


COAL MOUNTAIN (WVVA) - The Wyoming County Sheriff's Department has confiscated 450 marijuana plants from the Coal Mountain area worth more than $1.3 million.

Acting on a tip, deputies harvested the pot crop around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The estimated street value of the plants is $1,325,000 -- according to a news release from Sheriff Randall Aliff.

Lt. Jimmy White and Lt. Chris Bailey are leading the investigation. The Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Department of Natural Resources and the West Virginia State Police.
