PRINCETON, W. Va (WVVA)-- Apple's latest version of iPhone is officially on sale.

People lined up to get into stores in Beckley and Princeton, as well as across the nation--eager to get their hands on the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

The 5C sits at $99 dollars with a two-year contract at AT&T, a cheaper option compared to the 5S for those with less in their budget.

The phones boast better resolution as well as higher megapixel cameras and even fingerprint technology, used to unlock the phone, for advanced security.

Jayden Shepherd, a student at Concord, said he likes that option the best.

"That way, if any of my [fraternity] brothers pick up my phone and try to update Facebook or something, they can't get into it," he said, "I heard that Apple is only doing a limited release on it so it's hard to find it, and then you have to pre-order it because everywhere is sold out."

If stores are sold out, Apple recommends ordering online.

Although you may have to wait a few days or in some cases, weeks, as demand soars for the new devices.

Beckley, WV (WVVA)--The line outside the AT&T store in Beckley at the Cranberry Creek Mall began growing at about 6:00 Friday morning.

By the time the doors opened 30 people were waiting in line for the iPhone 5S and 5c.

Managers are hoping to meet demand, and plan to work with other local stores to do so.
