SLIDESHOW: Two dozen arrested in Buchanan County drug roundup

GRUNDY (WVVA) - A total of 24 individuals have been arrested and charged as the result of a drug sweep in Buchanan County.

Twenty-three of the 24 arrested face various drug charges. One individual was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The drug indictments were executed on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Police say numerous amounts of narcotics were seized.

All were transported to Southwest Va. Regional Jail. According to the news release from Sheriff Ray Foster more arrests are expected to follow.

Those arrested and charged were:

Nathan Ray Blankenship DOB 1-10-1989 of Vansant, VA

Johnny Casey DOB 7-12-1964 of Big Rock, VA

  • Distribute schedule I & II controlled substance; Common nuisance; Conspire to distribute schedule I & II controlled substances

Stephanie Alissa Casey DOB 4-29-1989 of Big Rock, VA

  • Distribute schedule I & II controlled substance Common nuisance; Conspire to distribute schedule I & II controlled substances

Aaron Matthew Chapman DOB 3-24-1988 of Grundy, VA

  • Distribute schedule I & II; Common nuisance

Lisa Gay Chapman DOB 1-1-1965 of Grundy, VA

  • Distribute schedule III controlled substance; Common nuisance;

Dreama Mae Charles DOB 3-23-1983 of Grundy, VA

  • Distribute schedule I & II controlled substance; Conspire to distribute schedule I & II controlled substances; Common nuisance; Child endangerment

Terra Leigh Conners DOB 8-17-1974 of Vansant, VA

    A coal miner has died in an accident in Buchanan County. It happened Wednesday afternoon at the CONSOL Buchanan Mine No.1.
