Flags lowered to honor late Fayette Co. delegate

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia flags in parts of the state will be lowered next week to honor former Delegate Thomas Eberly Myles.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin says flags at the Capitol Complex and state-owned facilities in Fayette County will be displayed at half-staff from dawn to dusk on Monday, when a memorial service for Myles will be held.

Myles died in early August at age 90. He was appointed to the House of Delegates from Fayette County in August 1955 and was elected the following year. He served in the Legislature until 1972.
