Community reacts to a local church break-in

HINTON (WVVA)- Members of the Hinton community were shocked to learn of the break-in and robbery of the New Hope Church of the Nazarene last Tuesday.

Chief Derek Snavely of the Hinton Police Department received the call about the break-in and took the case under investigation.  He was led to 33-year-old Blaine Andrew Adkins of Hinton, who was then arrested on Wednesday of this week and charged with breaking and entering.

Community members question why someone would steal from a church that is so eager to help any member of the community, whether it be in the form of a hot meal or financially.

Over 800 dollars worth of valuables were stolen from the church.
