OAK HILL (WVVA) - Three separate crashes claimed the lives of six individuals in Fayette County over the holiday weekend.

On Saturday, around 10:30 p.m., all three people inside a Chevy pickup truck were killed when the vehicle rolled over on Route 612 near Mossy.

The victims of the crash were identified as 54-year-old Robert Dean Manning, Edward Miller and Donna Moran -- all of Scarbro.

Sheriff Steve Kessler said alcohol and excessive speed were believed to be factors in the crash.

Around 4:30 on Monday morning, 40-year-old Mary Jo Dahan of Fairmont was killed when she apparently lost control of her SUV and struck an embankment on Route 19 in Oak Hill.

Later Monday on Route 60 near Hico, a car driving erratically hit the curve, flipped and landed on its top. One occupant was ejected, another trapped inside. 35-year-old Curtis Ray West and 37-year-old Randall Wilson -- both of Fayetteville -- were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third occupant, 32-year-old Daniel Allen Smith, also of Fayetteville, was airlifted to Charleston where he was listed in stable condition.

"It is tragic that so many people have lost their lives in motor vehicle accidents this holiday weekend," said Kessler. "We are fortunate, however, that these collisions were not worse than they were. Each of these incidents involved a single vehicle. If other vehicles had been involved the number of deaths and serious injuries could have been far greater."

The accidents remain under investigation.
