Posted:

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WVVA) -- It wasn't pretty at times but the old cliche is still right: a win is a win. The WVU Mountaineers defeated William & Mary Tribe 24-17 at Mountaineer Field, Saturday.

West Virginia overcame a 10-point deficit in the second half to escape with a win over the FCS Tribe.

Paul Millard started his first game for the Mountaineers and went 19-25 for 237 yards and one touchdown.

Houston transfer Charles Sims rushed for 120 yards in his first game in the Blue and Gold.

WVU's focus now turns to #16 Oklahoma which defeated LA Monroe 34-0.
