FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WVVA) -- A Detroit man, on bond from a previous drug trafficking offense in Nicholas County, has been arrested in Fayette county.

Fayette County Sheriff's Deputy A. E. Roberts was on duty Friday when he tried to stop a black Dodge Avenger on for a traffic violation.  When Deputy Roberts tried to stop the car, the driver sped up in an attempt to flee.  After a short chase, Deputy Roberts was able to stop the car on Deep Water Street.

Shawn Booker, 44, of Detroit, Michigan, acted suspiciously once pulled over.  His car was searched, and officers found about 80 30 milligram Roxycodone pills, with a street value of $2,400.  Booker has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.  His bond status is unknown at this time.

At the time of this arrest, Booker was on bond following a previous arrest in Nicholas County for drug trafficking offenses.
