Getting a community involved for the future of one county

BLUEFIELD (WVVA) – A community investment & development symposium was held at Fincastle on the Mountain Thursday afternoon.

Tazewell County Board of Supervisors, the Town of Bluefield, Virginia and the Bluefield Virginia Rotary Club discussed projects going on in the county with community members.

"When I was in my twenties, there were things that this area didn't have so I didn't appreciate it," said Board of Supervisor's member, Charlie Stacy. "So we have to target that audience; we have to try to get the connection with them while they are here."

Projects such as a dental school, motels, restaurants and tourism were a few of the items discussed.

Leaders say they want community members input on these projects, and they encourage the public to give them a call or stop by their office.
